About me
As an East Coast native, I grew up in Virginia and New Jersey before headed off to college on the West Coast. At Occidental College in Los Angeles, I studied mathematics and studio art while being involved in my school's club ultimate frisbee team and numerous tutoring programs in the math department. I spent my summers in college working with kids both at regular summer adventure camp as well as an academic summer camp where I found that I would love to work with students and math after college. After graduating from Oxy in 2015, I moved to San Diego where I was extremely fortunate enough to be a part of High Tech High's internship credentialing program as a student teaching apprentice for 10th and 11th grade math. As a change from last year, I am beyond excited to be teaching 11th grade math at High Tech High Media Arts for the 2017-2018 school year!
Outside of the classroom, I love being outside and being active, which pairs well with my love of cooking, searching for, and eating good food. No matter what city I travel to, Rome, San Francisco, London, New York City, I always make it a point to explore by walking around so that I can run into the best eats! Though my life tends to revolve around meal times, I spend my other time in San Diego playing ultimate frisbee, hiking the local trails, and visiting the animals at the San Diego Zoo. When I do need some time out of the California sun, I like to relax with my betta fish Gary while eating home-baked goods and watching Game of Thrones and Master Chef.
